In processing rubber, it is necessary to structure production lines with appropriate systems of automation that allow to sustain the pace of work and ensure rapid and efficient handling of the product in the course of production. Rubber is heat-processed and until is not cooled shows a characteristic stickiness; this is a problem during handling, because, the still hot product, while it is being sprayed with non-stick substances that prevent the rubber products from sticking to each other, tends anyway to stick to the conveyor belt and then damages itself at the time of detachment. To avoid this criticality, in the construction of the conveyor belts for the processing of rubber are preferred stainless steels, to whom -for their particular property-the hot rubber tends not to stick.
Concerning the choice of the wire mesh, for a similar reason -and always related to the attitude of the still hot rubber, that is too soft-the conveyor belts for the rubber industry are realized with a very close opening, that creates an almost continuous surface. This, in fact, ensures that rubber, still soft due to the temperature, does not tend to infiltrate between the mesh of the belt, which would render difficult a perfect detachment, and also prevents the wire mesh itself does not sign the surface of the finished product.
